Este documento describe las características de desempeño de máquinas eléctricas de c.a para uso con alimentación mediante convertidores. Para máquinas eléctricas diseñadas específicamente para aplicaciones de trabajo con convertidor, se definen características de diseño. También especifica los parámetros de la interfaz e interacciones entre la máquina eléctrica y el convertidor, incluida la orientación sobre su instalación como parte de un sistema de accionamiento de potencia, a excepción de la tensión en la interfaz de potencia que se describe en la IEC 61800-8.
